Phillip John F. Yap

Phillip John F. Yap obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the San Beda College of Law and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of the Philippines.

Phillip joined the Intellectual Property department of VERA in 2008, where he gained extensive experience in litigation and enforcement . He has handled Opposition and Cancellation actions, administrative, civil and criminal actions for Infringement and Unfair Competition and border control enforcement actions from search and seizure, forfeiture proceedings and destruction of counterfeit products. He has also extensive experience in Plant Variety Protection, Food and Drug Administration registrations and obtaining government regulatory approvals and licenses. In addition, he has also handled trademark and patent prosecution matters.
