Bernadette Marie B. Tocjayao started her career in IP law in 1999. She has extensive experience in all facets of the IP practice including enforcement actions against counterfeiters and infringers, as well as in the prosecution of intellectual property violation cases.
She has likewise managed border control programmes for multi-national companies. In non-contentious work, her practice primarily covers trademark and patent prosecution. Her other IP-related work includes copyright registration, licensing, customs recordal, plant variety protection, business name registration, and product registration with the FDA, among others.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from the University of Asia and the Pacific. She received her law degree from the San Beda College of Law and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2000.
She is certified under the Southeast Asia patent drafting programme of the Federation Internationale des Conseils en Propiete Industrielle, and is a member of many international organizations such as INTA, PTMG, MARQUES and APAA.
